Laura has been offering trauma therapy in Columbia since 2010 and has been a clinical social worker for over 30 years. She brings hope and evidence-based interventions to all who are overcoming childhood adversity and trauma throughout the lifespan. She finds the body-focused therapies of Deep Brain Reorienting and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing to be highly effective, along with Ego-States Therapy and attention to the dissociative symptoms that accompany trauma. She received her Masters in Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis in 1992.

Laura offers individual counseling for adults (age 18 and up) either In-Person and Telehealth for residents of Missouri, Kansas, Idaho, and Massachusetts. Laura invests in much ongoing training and consultation to offer excellence in clinical practice. So what is Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR)? A treatment for PTSD that addresses residual shock symptoms that can be held in the body beneath conscious awareness. By giving slow and deliberate attention to the sequence of bodily changes that occurred after a shocking stimuli, a person can "unwind" from some of the tension and vigilance.
